What if we gave the poor money?
Morgane Staelens, Linde Betsens and Jorre Logghe collaborated to raise money for ‘Eight’, an organisation that supports villages in Uganda en Congo.
Eight gives the African inhabitants unconditional cash, which they can use to built up a life for themselves. Eight’s goals is that 90% of the raised funds go directly to the people in poverty. That way they want to make charity more transparant and a lot more efficient.
This installation, ‘de Kieskast’, gave passers-by the choice: do you want to donate something specific, like a house or a water well? Or why not let the people decide for themselves?
